When you start a case, you’ll answer a few questions about your legal matter and we’ll confirm your coverage. Then, we will send you a CaseAssist® confirmation that outlines your coverage, shows you which services are paid for by ARAG so there are no surprises along the way and provides information for network attorneys relevant to your legal matter.
From there, you can view network attorneys’ profiles matched to your case – many of which may have ratings and reviews from other ARAG members. Once you’re ready, you can contact the network attorney directly and provide your CaseAssist® confirmation number and Member ID. Remember, you can reach out to several network attorneys at the start to help you find the attorney who is the best fit for your needs and is available to work with you.
Questions to Ask Before Hiring
Once you reach out to the network attorney, it can be helpful to have a list of questions that helps you determine how you’ll work together. Consider these questions:
- How do you like to communicate with clients? In-person? Virtually? Via email?
- How often can I expect to hear updates about my case?
- What are potential options to pursue my situation?
- While I understand things may change along the way, what sort of timeline can I expect when working toward a resolution of my situation?
Remember, your network attorney can help you through the entirety of your legal matter, including preparing and reviewing legal documents, offering legal advice and representing you in court.
