Legal insurance is a benefit designed to help employees handle life’s legal matters. But many people aren’t familiar with how this benefit works.

Legal is everywhere – from the things you plan for to the unexpected.

And legal insurance provides people with the help they need to address and resolve these matters.

Why Legal Insurance

It can help with issues like:

• Traffic tickets and moving violations;
• A dispute with your landlord;
• Family matters like marriage, divorce, child custody and adoption;
• Buying or selling a house;
• Financial matters such as debt issues and  taxes;
• Home ownership and renovation contracts;

  • Services for parents and grandparents;
    • And estate planning for things like creating a will or a power of attorney.

So how can ARAG members use their legal insurance coverage?

Note: the life events shown are general examples and the related legal matters may not be specifically covered under your plan.

What are the benefits of legal insurance?

For many Americans, legal insurance is considered a valuable benefit that ensures affordable counsel and peace of mind.

It’s designed to:

  • Save you the hassle of asking for recommendations or having to research options.
  • Protect important assets, such as your home and finances.

In fact, with the average attorney rate costing hundreds of dollars per hour, members could save thousands in legal fees.*
