Des Moines, IA (July 29, 2019) — ARAG®, a leading provider of legal insurance, announced today that Jackie Brus has been elected to the board of directors of the Group Legal Services Association (GLSA), a professional membership association representing all facets of the legal plan industry.

Brus is currently a senior network development associate with ARAG, where she works closely with solo and small practice attorneys – as well as industry advocates – to share the value of participating in a legal insurance plan.

Brus has been an active member of GLSA for three years. She recently served as chair of the sponsorship committee, where she interacted with other legal plan administrators and legal industry focused-products and services to promote the value that participating as a GLSA sponsor brings to their business.

Regarding her new role at GLSA, Brus remarks, “I’m very excited to accept this important leadership opportunity! I’m looking forward to communicating to GLSA members my desire of working with them to champion the progress of access to justice issues, as well as offering them a unique industry perspective of working for a legal insurance plan provider.”

Brus was encouraged by her manager and mentor, Jean Clauson, to apply for a board membership position. Clauson recently served as president of GLSA and is currently Director of Network Relations and Legal Industry Advocate at ARAG.

Clauson feels Brus’ industry knowledge and enthusiastic approach makes her a great fit for the role. “During Jackie’s tenure at ARAG, she attended several legal conferences across the nation, as well as several Iowa Legal Aid events, where she was able to speak with attorneys and industry advocates alike who share her vision for providing affordable legal services to all individuals. Now she’s able to take that passion and experience to make a positive, lasting impact on the board and the members it serves.”

Brus began serving her 3-year tenure on the GLSA board of directors in May.
